Schedule of Activities:
Friday evening: Meet and greets at Big Sky Cyclery and Great Divide Cyclery
8:45 - 9:15am: Registration, packet pickup, coffee/pastries
9:30am: Clinic starts
12:30pm: Lunch by Taco del Sol / Information Stations
4:00pm: Finish riding / Social begins
The morning will consist of riding to a nearby location, and practicing a variety of skills to prepare riders for an afternoon of trail riding.
The lunchtime information stations will be a half-hour workshop. Topics to choose from will include: flat tire repair, basic bike maintenance, stretching/conditioning, nutrition, etc.
Classes will be organized by rider's skill level:
Beginner - little or no on-trail experience, mostly ride on paved/unpaved roads.
Iintermediate - some on-trail experience; tentative; or pushes bike over steep or rocky sections.
Advanced - extensive expereince on single track; comfortable riding steeper trails and rockey sections; looking to improve riding skills on more technical terrain, rocky sections, clearing small logs, manuevering switchbacks
Downhill/freeride - advanced riders looking to improve bike handling skills, safety and "flow" over trails. Class will focus on switchbacks, safe braking and manuevering techniques, suspension setup, clearing rocks and logs. Focus will be on building safety, fun, and confidence riding downhill, not about breakneck speed and daring.
Clinic Requirements / Recommendations
Helmets are mandatory!
Water bottles or hydration pack is strongly encouraged
Sunscreen may be needed
It's recommended that participants condition prior to event as it is a long day in the saddle, and a lot of hard work, but FUN!
It's recommended that participants have their bike checked prior to event to ensure they are in good working order.
