Big Sky Cycling sponsors a race team for anyone interested in road racing, mountain bike racing, or triathlons. It doesn’t matter how much race experience you have or how many races you plan to compete in. This is a great way to meet others, participate in group rides, and network with others working towards similar goals and competing in the same events.
The BSC Team has weekly training rides. Check out our calendar for the schedule.
The team hosts two annual races:
- Unravel the Scratchgravel mountain bike race in mid–May
- Queen City Triathlon for beginning triathletes in early summer
Annual membership dues for the Team are $15.
- Opportunity to network, train, and compete with other cyclists having similar goals
- meet other cyclists in the local area
- Organized training rides
- Discount at Big Sky Cycling
- Partial reimbursement of race fees
- Wear team jersey at all races
- Attend team meetings
- Volunteer at team events
- Support local sponsors
- Support other team members in training and races
The Big Sky Cyclery Race Team has captured the 2011 Montana Off-Road Race Series Best All Around Team state championship in the Cat 2 division.
We had to “grind” all season to capture the title, all the way up to the last race of the series yesterday at the WERKS. It was “all hands on deck” as Russ Gates, Kevin Colville, Jeff Linton, Andy Ritchie & Debra Morrell were there battlin’ on our “home turf” in the South Hills to keep the hard charging efforts of Team Muleterro & GAS-Intrinsik at bay. At the end of the day, as the curtain fell on another mountain bike race season, Team BSC found itself on top of the heap. Congrats to everyone this summer for your mountain bike race exploits. There was blood, sweat, tears & even some broken bones along the way. Definitely a title well earned and deserved.
The above accomplishments notwithstanding, take a moment & also congratulate yourselves on giving back a bit to the biking community as well. Our team’s recent donation, along with some individual volunteer efforts, greatly contributed to the Helena Dynamos successful middle-school/high school state championship yesterday. Team director, Geoff Proctor, passes along his thanks for this. The smiles speak even higher volumes…
